Caring for Your Rhubarb Candle

To get the most out of your Rhubarb Candle, a little care goes a long way. By following these simple steps, you’ll ensure a clean, safe burn and maximize the life of your candle.

Burning Tips
Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to around 5mm. This helps maintain a steady flame and reduces smoke. Each time you burn your Rhubarb Candle, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the jar before extinguishing to avoid tunneling. For the best burn, don't leave your candle lit for more than 4 hours at a time.

Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, and never burn it down to the base. Stop using the candle when there’s about 5mm of wax left to prevent overheating or cracking the jar. Keep the surface of the wax clean by removing any wick trimmings, dust, or debris.

Extinguishing Properly
To safely put out your candle, we recommend using a wick snuffer—available in our candle care collection. Blowing out the flame can misalign the wick, splash hot wax, and produce unwanted smoke. A snuffer ensures a smooth extinguishing process while helping preserve the candle’s quality. After snuffing the candle, let it cool and reset for at least an hour before relighting.

Safety First
When burning multiple candles, ensure they are spaced at least 10cm apart. Avoid placing your Rhubarb Candle in drafty areas or near open windows. Never leave a lit candle unattended or within reach of children or pets. Keep it away from anything flammable, such as curtains, papers, or soft furnishings.
